My Tech Policies
- Technology is used in class for educational purposes only.
- Cell phones are not to be out in the classroom unless otherwise specified.
- Students using technology inappropriately, actions that will be taken: (1) the student will be warned, and asked to make a better decision, and (2) 1 participation point will be taken away from the student's grade (Students receive 40 participation points at the beginning of each quarter), and (3) the device will be taken away, an email will be sent to the student's parent(s), and the device will have to be picked up from me at the end of the day.
- "It's either on you or in your school locker."--The student's Chromebook should be only in their possession, and not with their friends.
- If the student damages or destroys another student's Chromebook, the student is subject to punishment determined by the administration. Punishments may include but are not limited to: suspension, Saturday school, and/or paying for damages. If you have any further questions on this matter, please refer to the Chromebook Handbook 2015-2016.
- Students who forget or do not charge their Chromebooks at home will lose 1 participation point each day they do not come to class prepared. (Students receive 40 participation points at the beginning of each quarter)
- If a student's Chromebook is not working properly, they may take their Chromebook to the Tech Help Lab on campus.
- Each classroom will have extra Chromebooks for the student to use in class, just in case.
- The IRC (located in the Library) is open after school.
- You can work on your Chromebook "offline".
- Use another device that has a data plan (i.e., an iPod, iPad, or smart phone).
- Use an "Insanity Pass", which gives you 1 additional day to complete your assignment (1 given at the beginning of each quarter).
- Use your "Birthday Homework Pass", which excuses from one homework assignment (Given at the beginning of your birthday month and can be used at any time in the school year).
- Believe it or not, you can also use pencil & paper!
"Where do I go if I need to print something?"
- The IRC printers you can use: sign on to one of the many computers using your Google account to print from any printer in the IRC.
